How To Use Tones

I have chained 100 monkeys to typewriters in my basement..  while they are producing an amazing amount of feces, they are also creating some pretty cool features for the ringtone site.  Anyday now I am expecting them to pound out tools that will allow you to text or email ringtones to your phone (that is if they want monkey chow).  Until then, here are a few other ways to get tones to your phone.

Blackberry:

On your phone – Go to crazytoney.com in your phone’s browser.  Click on the title of the tone and then click on the link to the mp3 file.  When the dialog box pops up, select “Save”.  You will see another pop up that asks you where you want to save the file, and if you want tone as your ringtone.  Select the save location, select ringtone (ONLY if you want this tone to be your defualt tone) and click save.  File will download a you will be taken to a downloaded files list. To add tone as ringtone for an individual person, go to your backberry address book, find the person you want the tone for, hit your menu button (blackberry icon), and select “Add Custom Phone Tune”.  You will be taken to the dialog to select the tone.

From website – Click on the tone link and download the file to your desktop.  From there you can get the tone into the phone by first connecting your phone to the computer, and navigate to the “blackberry/ringtones/” folder.  Move the ringtone file into the ringtone folder.  You can then access the file as you would any other ringtone.

Manual email – Email the link to the file to the email you use on your phone.  Click the link in the email and your blackberry browser will open. You will be taken to the dialog to select the tone.

iPhone:

Since we spent all our money on monkeys, we do not have a iPhone to test with.  But if you click on the iPhone link the file will download.  When you click on the downloaded file, it will open in the ringtone directory of your iTunes.  When you sync your iPhone the ringtone will be moved to your phone.
